Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, in office role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for managing end-to-end accounting and taxation work for Australian clients. Day-to-day activities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing general ledgers, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian accounting and tax regulations. The role involves overseeing tax returns, BAS and IAS preparation, supporting year-end processes, and liaising with client teams to clarify requirements and resolve queries. The Senior Accountant will review work completed by junior staff, provide guidance on technical issues,
and help maintain and improve internal accounting processes and documentation. This position requires proactive communication, attention to detail, and a strong focus on delivering accurate, timely, and client-centric services.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
- Expertise in taxation for the Australian market, such as individual and business tax returns, GST, BAS/IAS compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to review and supervise the work of junior team members, provide constructive feedback, and support technical problem-solving.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and international clients.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (CA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in public practice or outsourcing for Australian or international accounting firms is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in an on-site, collaborative environment.
