We are an export company manufacturing and exporting home decorative articles made from metal, glass, wood and mixed materials.

Job Summary
We are looking for a Packaging Engineer responsible for developing protected, cost-effective and export-compliant packaging for our products. The candidate should ensure that products—especially fragile, heavy and irregularly shaped items—reach customers without damage while meeting buyers’ packaging requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop suitable packaging for metal, glass, wood and mixed-material home décor products.
• Design inner and outer packaging using cartons, partitions, inserts, foam, honeycomb, moulded pulp and other protective materials.
• Prepare packaging specifications, packing instructions and carton markings.
• Conduct drop, vibration, stacking and transit tests.
• Analyse packaging failures and reduce transit damage and customer claims.
• Create packaging samples for buyer approval and production trials.
• Optimise carton sizes and container utilisation to reduce material and freight costs.
• Ensure compliance with buyers’ requirements and international packaging standards.
• Coordinate with production, quality, merchandising, suppliers and the packing department.
• Train packing staff and monitor packing methods on the production floor.




• Maintain packaging BOMs, test reports and approved packaging records.
• Work on sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions wherever possible.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Diploma or degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in packaging development, preferably in home décor, handicrafts, furniture, glassware or export manufacturing.
• Knowledge of corrugated boxes, protective packaging materials and export packing.
• Understanding of fragile-product packaging and transit testing.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD or other packaging-design software is preferred.
• Good problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work closely with factory teams and packaging suppliers and Follow up.

• Compliance with buyer specifications.
• Improvement in container utilisation and packaging sustainability.

This is not a 100% desk job, will require most time on the work floor area.
Most importantly should be able to give cost breakup and find ways to reduce costs.
