Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Okta Senior Engineer to design, implement, administer, and support enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using the Okta platform. The role will focus on SSO, MFA, Universal Directory, Lifecycle Management, provisioning/deprovisioning, Okta Workflows, integrations, and identity governance. Okta Universal Directory provides a centralized identity store, while Lifecycle Management automates onboarding, role changes, and offboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable Okta IAM solutions for enterprise environments.

Configure and manage Okta Universal Directory (UD), users, groups, profiles, attributes, and mappings.

Implement and support SSO, MFA, Adaptive MFA, and passwordless authentication/FastPass.

Configure application integrations using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, WS-Federation, and other authentication protocols.

Manage Okta Lifecycle Management including user provisioning, deprovisioning, onboarding, transfers, and offboarding.

Configure SCIM-based provisioning and integrate Okta with SaaS and enterprise applications.

Develop and maintain Okta Workflows for identity automation and operational processes.

Integrate Okta with Active Directory, LDAP, HR systems, Azure AD/Entra ID, and other identity sources.

Implement Okta Identity Governance (OIG), access requests, access certifications, and entitlement management where required.

Develop and consume Okta REST APIs for automation and custom integrations.

Troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, federation, synchronization, and application integration issues.

Monitor Okta System Logs and investigate security and access-related incidents.

Implement IAM best practices based on Zero Trust and Least Privilege principles.





Work closely with security, infrastructure, application, and compliance teams.

Prepare technical documentation, integration designs, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Provide technical leadership and mentor junior IAM/Okta engineers.

Required Skills

7+ years of experience in IAM, with solid hands-on experience in Okta.

Strong expertise in Okta Workforce Identity / Identity Engine.

Strong knowledge of SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SCIM, LDAP, and REST APIs.

Experience integrating Okta with Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID).

Strong understanding of identity lifecycle, JML processes, RBAC, authentication, and authorization.

Experience with API-based integrations and automation.

Good knowledge of JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages.

Experience with enterprise application onboarding and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of security concepts including Zero Trust, least privilege, MFA, and access governance.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Okta Access Gateway.

Experience with Okta Privileged Access.

Experience with Okta Identity Governance and access certifications.

Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP IAM.

Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar.

Okta certification such as Okta Certified Administrator, Consultant, or Developer.

Experience working in large enterprise environments and handling production IAM operations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Relevant Okta/IAM certifications are an added advantage.
