Structural Analysis & Design:

- Review & Finalisation of general arrangement drawings and Design Basis Report

- Designing Structural Components: Develop designs for structures such as Intake, HRT, pressure shaft, surge shaft, powerhouses, machine foundation and other facilities specific to hydropower projects.

- Structural Analysis: Perform and guide the team in detailed structural analysis, considering factors such as water pressure, seismic loads, moving crane, wind load, and thermal effects.

- Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials (e.g., concrete, steel) based on durability, cost, and environmental conditions.

Structural Stability: Ensure the stability, strength, and durability of structures over the long term, particularly under extreme conditions like flooding and earthquakes

- Team guidance : Lead and mentor the structural design team, guiding junior team members in undertaking complex design assignments and delivering optimised solutions.

- Ensure compliance with applicable national and international design codes and standards (BIS, USACE, Eurocodes, ACI, ICOLD etc.).

- Perform and/or review independent design checks and approve structural designs and calculations.

- Drive value engineering and optimisation of designs for cost efficiency and constructability.

2. Technical Evaluation & Review:

- Perform and review structural analysis, modeling, and design of hydropower infrastructure, including Intake, HRT, pressure shaft , surge shaft and powerhouses.

- Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for structural simulations and stress analysis.

- Conduct and review dynamic and hydrodynamic analysis to assess the stability of structures.





- Review and validate designs prepared by consultants/ contractors and provide technical recommendations.

- Establish and implement QA/ QC procedures for structural design deliverables.

- Technical management with client

- Support Project Manager in providing Technical/ structural solutions

3. Hydropower & Water Resource Projects:

- Assess the structural integrity of hydraulic tunnels, surge shafts, pressure shaft and Powerhouse structures.

- Collaborate with hydrologists, hydraulic engineers geotechnical, Electro-mechanical and Hydro-mechanical engineers to optimise project feasibility.

- Provide design support during construction, including resolution of site queries, RFIs, and design modifications.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

- Prepare technical reports, structural calculations, and design justifications.

- Provide technical presentations and engage with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and government agencies.

- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and tracking of design deliverables.

Your profile

- Shall hold a Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute with minimum 10 to 15 years of skilled experience.

- Masters in Structural Engineering from reputed institute is Preferred.

- Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, MIDAS, SAP2000, ANSYS, Abaqus, ETABS,

- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and GIS applications.

- Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and composite material behaviour.

- Experience with numerical modelling for static, hydrodynamic, dynamic and seismic load analysis.

- Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (IS, Eurocode, ACI, etc.).

- Professional certification/membership (e.g., Chartered Engineer, IEI, ICE) is desirable.
