We are looking for a Construction Site Lab Technician responsible for field and laboratory testing of construction materials, ensuring compliance with IS codes, specifications, and quality standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials including soil, aggregates, sand, cement, concrete and bricks.
- Perform soil tests such as moisture content, field density (Core Cutter/Sand Replacement), sieve analysis and Proctor compaction tests.
- Carry out concrete tests including slump test, cube casting, curing and compressive strength testing.
- Test aggregates for gradation, impact value, crushing value and water absorption.
- Ensure sampling, testing and reporting are done as per relevant IS codes and project specifications.
- Maintain proper records of test results, registers and calibration certificates.
- Coordinate with third-party laboratories for specialized testing when required.
- Monitor concrete batching and ensure proper mix design implementation at site.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for failed tests and assist in corrective actions.
- Maintain testing equipment, ensure periodic calibration and proper storage.
- Assist QA/QC engineer in quality inspections and audits.
- Verify material delivery against approved vendor list and test certificates.
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly quality reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures while performing tests.
- Support site team during inspections by consultants and authorities.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of IS codes related to construction material testing
- Familiarity with lab equipment and testing procedures
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, reporting)
- Robust documentation and record-keeping ability
- Ability to work at construction site conditions
- Flexibility for Rostar Duties.
