Role & responsibilities

- Experience in handling Castings, Forgings, Machined Components, and other engineering parts.
- Release Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order execution and delivery schedules.
- Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery as per production requirements.
- Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Monitor stock levels and take proactive action to avoid material shortages and production stoppages.
- Coordinate with Quality for incoming inspection, rejection, replacement, and supplier corrective actions.
- Conduct supplier visits and periodic supplier performance reviews.
- Identify alternate sources and support supplier development activities.
- Drive cost reduction through negotiation, value engineering, alternate sourcing, and productivity improvements.




- Identify opportunities for inventory reduction and storage optimization.
- Understand engineering drawings, component specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement and procurement process improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

- 6-10 years of experience in Procurement / Purchase, preferably from a Heavy Engineering / Engineering Product Manufacturing industry.
