Job Title: Video Editor (Long-form and Short-form)

About the role:

We are launching a YouTube channel focused on tech, AI, new-age products, and breakdowns. We are looking for an experienced Video Editor who can turn talking-head podcast style recordings into polished long-form videos, and repurpose them into engaging short-form reels for platforms like YouTube Shorts, Instagram, and TikTok. This role is fast-paced and high ownership. You will move quickly, deliver on timelines, and help shape the channel’s visual voice.

Key responsibilities:

- Edit long-form talking-head podcast videos into clean, engaging narratives.
- Create short-form reels and cutdowns from long-form content, with strong hooks and pacing.
- Make visually compelling, high-energy edits that stand out while staying on-brand.
- Use motion graphics and animation to enhance storytelling, clarity, and retention.
- Use AI-assisted tools for faster workflows, such as AutoCut, transcription, captioning, smart reframing, and automated rough cuts.
- Add captions, sound design, music, graphics, and basic motion elements to enhance clarity and retention.
- Maintain a consistent style, branding, and quality across all outputs.
- Work closely with the channel founder to iterate quickly and deliver on schedule.
- Manage multiple edits at once, prioritize effectively, and communicate progress clearly.

Requirements:





- 2 to 3 years of professional editing experience, ideally with podcast or talking-head formats.
- Strong portfolio showing long-form storytelling, short-form reels, and visually appealing motion graphics work.
- Proficiency in modern editing tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar.
- Experience with motion graphics and animation, ideally using After Effects or similar.
- Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools, captioning workflows, and automation.
- Strong sense of pacing, attention to detail, and ability to create engaging hooks.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality.

Nice to have:

- Experience with YouTube content strategy, thumbnails, and retention optimization.
