Overview The UX/UI Designer owns the visual and interaction design of the candidate-facing experience: the application flow, coding challenge portal, and information session booking tools, making it easy and credible for early-career engineers to move through the funnel. This role sits at the intersection of design and recruiting operations: every screen a candidate touches, from the first landing page to the scheduling confirmation, shapes whether they finish the funnel or drop off. You'll work closely with recruiting, marketing, and program coordination to understand where candidates get stuck, then translate that into cleaner flows, clearer copy hierarchy, and more intuitive interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for the candidate registration and scheduling flows
- Partner with recruiting and marketing to refine the Fedstack landing pages and cohort microsites
- Run lightweight usability reviews with recruiters and recent candidates to catch drop-off points in the funnel
- Maintain a simple design system (colors, type, components) so program materials stay consistent across cohorts
- Translate feedback from recruiters on where candidates get confused into concrete design fixes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of UX/UI design experience, ideally on a marketing site, application flow, or lead-gen product
- Proficiency in Figma or a comparable design tool
- Comfort presenting design rationale to non-designers (recruiters, program leads)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency across pages and touchpoints
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for a hiring, recruiting, or education platform
- Basic familiarity with Squarespace or similar site builders
- Experience with A/B testing easy page or form variations
