MomentuX Systems makes mission-critical space and defence systems engineered for demanding operating environments.
We combine strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on execution, taking systems from first-principles analysis and design through prototyping, environmental testing, qualification and deployment.
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with strong fundamentals in centrifugal pump and impeller design for compact, high-performance liquid cooling systems.
What we’re looking for
Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and turbomachinery fundamentals
Ability to perform flow, pressure, head and power calculations
Experience in impeller design, including:
Velocity triangles
Blade/vane inlet and outlet angles
Impeller diameter and width sizing
Slip factor and efficiency estimation
Experience in volute design and sizing
Understanding of cavitation, NPSH and pump operating limits
Ability to estimate and generate pump performance curves
Comfortable with CAD and rapid prototyping / 3D printing
Able to design and set up a physical pump test rig
Hands-on with instrumentation, flow and pressure measurement, and experimental validation
Comfortable building, testing, modifying and troubleshooting hardware
Able to compare analytical predictions with test results and iterate the design based on measured performance
CFD experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Robust fundamentals and physical intuition matter more.
Ability to compare calculated performance with test results and iterate the design
CFD experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Strong fundamentals and physical understanding are more important.
Education:
B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech/MS or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace or related engineering.
We care more about fundamentals, problem-solving ability and hands-on engineering than the degree level.
