Position: Institutional Training & Placement Officer (ITPO) & Corporate Relations

Reporting To: Management, Secretary, Principal & Central TPO

Travel Necessity: Up to 70% (Industry Visits, Recruiter Engagements, Corporate Networking, Partnership Development)

Position Overview:

The Institutional Training & Placement Officer (ITPO) & Corporate Relations will be responsible for designing and executing the institute's placement strategy, strengthening corporate partnerships, enhancing student employability, facilitating internships, and building sustainable industry linkages.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong recruiter network, an outstanding placement track record, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to position SDMIT as a preferred talent destination among leading employers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Placement Leadership:

· Develop and implement annual placement strategies aligned with institutional goals.

· Lead campus recruitment activities and achieve placement targets across all engineering disciplines.

· Build relationships with national, regional, and multinational employers.

· Identify and onboard new recruiters while strengthening existing company relations.

· Organize campus drives, pooled drives, virtual recruitment events, and off-campus opportunities.

· Track placement metrics, analyse outcomes, and present periodic reports to management.

2. Corporate Relations & Industry Partnerships:

· Develop strategic partnerships with industries, professional bodies, and corporate organizations.





· Establish MoUs for placements, projects, internships, industry training, and collaborative initiatives. Serve as the primary point of contact for recruiters and industry leaders.

· Enhance the institute's corporate visibility through sustained engagement programs.

3. Internship & Industry Connect:

· Facilitate quality internship opportunities for students across all branches.

· Coordinate industry visits, industrial training, sponsored projects, and experiential learning initiatives. Create strong industry-academia collaboration frameworks.

· Expand opportunities for live projects and industry mentoring.

4. Training & Employability Development:

· Identify employability gaps and work closely with training partners, faculty, and departments.

· Design and execute training programs on: Aptitude, Soft Skills, Interview Preparation, Group Discussions, Corporate Readiness, Emerging Technologies

· Monitor student preparedness and improve placement readiness metrics.

5. Stakeholder Management:

· Collaborate with department heads, faculty coordinators, alumni, and industry mentors.

· Engage alumni networks for placement opportunities and corporate engagement.

· Represent SDMIT at industry forums, job fairs, conferences, and networking events.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification:

Preferred: B.E./B.Tech + MBA (HR)

Experience Required:

· Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in Training & Placement, Career Services, Corporate Relations, Talent Acquisition, Campus Hiring, or Industry Engagement.

· Demonstrated success in achieving strong student placement outcomes.

· Established network with recruiters across IT, Core Engineering, Manufacturing, Consulting, BFSI, and Emerging Technology sectors.

· Experience working with engineering colleges, universities, educational institutions,



or recruitment organizations will be highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits: CTC up to ₹12 Lakhs Per Annum

· Higher compensation may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates with a proven placement and corporate relations track record.
