Business Development Executive – Food Ingredients (Technical Sales)

About the Role

ChemKart is expanding its Food Ingredients business and is looking for a dynamic Business Development Executive – Food Ingredients (Technical Sales) to drive customer acquisition, product development and revenue growth across India.

This role is ideal for a Food Technologist / Food Scientist with robust commercial and customer-facing skills who can understand technical requirements, recommend ingredient solutions and convert opportunities into business.

You will work closely with R&D;, Purchase, Quality and Business teams at food manufacturing companies and will be responsible for taking opportunities from market identification → customer trials → product approval → commercial conversion → repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

· Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities.

· Build a strong customer pipeline across Bakery, Confectionery, Dairy, Beverages, Processed Foods, Nutraceutical & Functional Foods and Plant-Based Nutrition.

· Conduct customer visits,



product presentations and technical-commercial discussions.

· Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable ingredient solutions.

· Manage opportunities from enquiry through trials, approvals and commercial conversion.

· Achieve business development and sales targets.

· Negotiate commercial terms and develop long-term customer relationships.

Technical Sales & Application Support

· Develop strong knowledge of food ingredients, their functionality and applications.

· Provide technical support during customer discussions and product trials.

· Work with customer R&D; teams on product development, ingredient replacement, cost optimization and functional improvement.

· Coordinate and participate in customer trials and troubleshoot application-related challenges.

· Prepare technical presentations, application guides, comparison documents and trial reports.

· Coordinate with international suppliers for product training, technical support and application development.

Preferred Knowledge: Proteins, hydrocolloids, fibres, sweeteners, emulsifiers, stabilizers, functional, bakery, dairy and nutritional ingredients.

Preferred: Master's degree in Food Technology / Food Science or relevant knowledge of food ingredients and applications.
