- Responsibilities

- Build and operate FastAPI services that power ARI frontends and external API consumers.
- Design and implement REST endpoints with clean contracts — validation, structured errors, timeouts, health/readiness, env-based config (no hardcoded env/account values).
- Work with Postgres and/or DynamoDB, Redis/Valkey, and SQS/SNS; implement API authorization and support client/key and RBAC/ReBAC flows.
- Ship with tests and CI/CD; monitor with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki; be on-call for the services you own.
- Touch Next.js route handlers, Prisma, and BFF code when a feature requires it — own the vertical slice, not just the API.
- Write and iterate on database queries with attention to execution plans and indexing; understand what your queries cost.
- Work effectively with AI coding agents, repository skills, and approved MCP tools — always with review.
- Support straightforward LangChain workflows where used and help triage D&A-owned; agents running in our runtime.
- Features you ship end-to-end —
- API and any BFF/route-handler work needed, tests, and their behaviour in production. On-call responsibility for services you touch.

- AuthN/AuthZ on APIs: OIDC-derived identity, API keys, route guards, least-privilege gates.
- Support for API client management backends: CRUD, key expire/rotate patterns, audit events, user/role checks.
- Postgres: SQL, migrations (Alembic and/or Prisma), connection config.
- Query performance basics: EXPLAIN plans, index selection, and awareness of N+1 patterns.
- DynamoDB: AWS SDK; basic data-model literacy (key design, GSI awareness).
- Redis/Valkey: cache and/or Celery broker awareness; ability to debug connectivity and backlog issues.
- Async and eventing: SQS/SNS publish-consume basics, DLQ awareness
- SSE endpoints or job-based async where used.
- AWS SDK (boto3 / @aws-sdk) for S3, SQS, DynamoDB, and related app needs
- Azure AD / Azure OpenAI as configured clients.
- Docker
- Kubernetes basics (logs, restarts, env/secrets).
