Purpose of the Role:
Support spacecraft systems engineering for the LEO satellite constellation, from requirements and interface definition through verification. The role captures requirements, defines and controls interfaces, carries out trade-off studies, budgets and analyses, and plans and tracks verification, working within the systems-engineering team.
Job Responsibilities:
Requirements & Interface Definition
- Capture, write, and manage system and subsystem requirements in a requirements tool, and maintain bidirectional traceability from mission needs down to verification.
- Define and control interfaces between subsystems and with the payload, ground segment, and launch vehicle, and prepare interface control documents (ICDs).
- Contribute to system architecture definition, functional breakdown, and design baselines.
Configuration & Design Trade-Off Studies, Budgets & Analysis
- Perform trade-off studies (for example, on architecture options, redundancy, sizing, and make-or-buy) and document the rationale and recommendation.
- Build and maintain system budgets (mass, power, link, data, pointing) and analyse system performance against requirements.
- Support Spacecraft subsystem design through analysis & modelling including FEM, CLA, thermal modelling, PLM & ERP integration
- Prepare technical material for PDR and CDR, and support closure of review actions.
Verification & Validation
- Develop the verification plan and verification matrix, and assign methods (test, analysis, inspection, demonstration) to each requirement.
- Support verification and validation execution, and track requirement verification status through to closure.
- Maintain systems-engineering documentation, baselines, and records under configuration control.
Job Deliverables:
- A complete, traceable requirements set and interface control documents (ICDs), maintained under configuration control.
- Documented trade-off studies and system budgets that support design decisions at review gates.
- A verification plan and verification matrix, with requirement verification tracked to closure.
- Review-ready systems-engineering documentation for PDR, CDR, and related milestones.
Education Qualification: BE or BTech in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, or a related discipline; ME or MTech desirable.
