Hiring: Subject Matter Expert – Reinforcement & Detailing (BIM)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Reinforcement Detailing / BIM professional to join our AI Drawing Generation team.

You will work closely with our AI and software teams to help build an AI system that can understand and generate accurate, production-ready reinforcement detailing.

This is not a pure drafting role — you'll use your domain expertise to create, review and improve AI-generated reinforcement models and detailing.

Key Responsibilities

- Create 3D reinforcement models for RC elements such as walls, slabs, columns, beams, foundations and connection zones.
- Prepare 2D reinforcement drawings, sections, callouts, dimensions, tags and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
- Review AI-generated reinforcement and identify errors, constructability issues and edge cases.
- Explain the reasoning behind reinforcement/detailing decisions so that software teams can convert them into rules.
- Work with engineers, AI specialists and software developers to improve the AI's reinforcement detailing capabilities.
- Interpret structural drawings and design reports and convert engineering intent into practical reinforcement detailing.




- Ensure models and drawings are accurate, practical and buildable.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of hands-on reinforcement detailing experience.
- Strong experience with RC elements – walls, slabs, columns, beams, foundations, etc.
- Experience in 3D Rebar Modelling using any of:
- Revit
- Tekla Structures
- Allplan
- CADS RC
- Solid knowledge of 2D reinforcement detailing and BBS.
- Good understanding of:
- Cover & spacing
- Lap length
- Anchorage
- Hooks & bends
- Starter bars
- Edge/opening reinforcement
- Connection zones
- Constructability
- Ability to read structural drawings and design reports.
- Experience with precast and/or in-situ construction.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions to non-detailing teams.

Preferred / Good to Have

- Experience with UK, European or Australian reinforcement codes.
- Knowledge of BS 8666, Eurocode 2, AS 3600 / AS-NZS 4671, UK NA, DIN or SIA.
- Knowledge of IFC and BIM workflows.
- Experience in model checking / reviewing.
- Interest or experience in BIM automation, AI or technology-driven workflows.
