We are looking for an experienced PTC Windchill Architect to design, implement, integrate, and govern enterprise PLM solutions based on PTC Windchill. The architect will own the technical architecture, solution design, integrations, customization strategy, performance, scalability, security, and upgrade roadmap.

Windchill provides a web-based PLM architecture that can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or in highly scalable clustered environments. PPTC

Key Responsibilities

- Define end-to-end Windchill architecture for enterprise PLM implementations.
- Design solutions across:
- Product Data Management (PDM)
- Document Management
- Change Management
- Configuration Management
- BOM / Part Management
- Workflow and Lifecycle Management
- CAD / PLM integrations
- Classification and Effectivity
- Translate business requirements into scalable Windchill technical solutions.
- Design Windchill integrations with ERP, MES, CRM, CAD, data lakes, and other enterprise systems.
- Define integration patterns using Windchill REST Services (WRS/OData), web services, middleware, and Java APIs. WRS exposes Windchill objects through OData domains and supports extensibility/custom domains. PPTC Support+1
- Establish customization standards and decide when to use OOTB configuration vs. customization.
- Review and govern Windchill customizations, including modeled objects, services, listeners, UI actions, and data utilities. PPTC
- Design application, database, content-management, and infrastructure architecture for performance and scalability.




- Define security architecture including roles, groups, domains, access-control policies, authentication, and SSO.
- Lead Windchill version upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
- Perform architecture reviews, identify technical risks, and establish remediation plans.
- Provide technical leadership to Windchill developers, administrators, integration teams, and business stakeholders.
- Create architecture documents, technical design specifications, integration designs, and deployment strategies.
- Establish development, testing, release, and CI/CD standards for Windchill solutions.

Required Technical Skills
- Solid hands-on experience with PTC Windchill, preferably Windchill 11/12/13 or newer.
- Windchill architecture and deployment.
- Windchill customization using Java and Windchill APIs.
- Windchill REST Services / OData / REST APIs.
- Object modeling and Windchill Type and Attribute Management.
- Workflow, lifecycle, team, organization, domain, and access-control configuration.
- Product/Part, BOM, Document, Change and Configuration Management.
- CAD integrations, especially Creo/Windchill Workgroup Manager.
- Experience with Windchill upgrade and migration projects.
- Database concepts and SQL, preferably Oracle/PostgreSQL depending on the deployment.
- Application servers, web servers, load balancing, clustering, and caching.
- Enterprise integration technologies and middleware.
- SSO, LDAP/AD, authentication and authorization.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
