ABOUT AURELLEAurelle is an engineering consultancy. We take on the systems other firms call unreachable: intelligence that acts, infrastructure that holds, platforms that carry whole businesses, across AI and intelligence, security and infrastructure, and products and platforms.
We are two founders and a team of engineers, researchers and operators. Both founders are engineers who still build. Our work goes to production and stays there. We do not ship demos.
We are now opening internships for the first time.
ABOUT THIS ROLEYou will write code that clients depend on.
You will be paired with a senior engineer who reviews your work and is there when you are stuck, but you will not be handed pre-decomposed tickets. You will read a requirement, ask the questions needed to understand it, build the thing, test it, document it, and see it deployed. Expect unfamiliar technologies. Expect to be handed a problem before you are handed a solution.
Your code goes into work that clients rely on, and it will be reviewed by people who will tell you honestly when it is not yet positive enough.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Requirements to implementation: translate what a client needs into something technically coherent
- Feature development: build and maintain real software features
- Debugging: independently, including in code you did not write
- Testing and QA: meaningful coverage, not box-ticking
- Integrations: APIs and third-party services
- Deployment and release: participate in getting things shipped safely
- Documentation: technical docs others can actually follow
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHA senior engineer as your day-to-day reviewer and first point of contact, alongside the wider engineering team. Both founders are technical and read code, so expect your work to be looked at by people who will notice the shortcuts.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Solid programming fundamentals: data structures, control flow, debugging, version control
- Code that another person can read six months later
- The ability to debug without someone sitting next to you
- Comfort reading documentation as a first resort
- Willingness to learn technologies you have never touched
- Understanding that shipping matters as much as coding
We care about how you think through a problem, not which languages are on your resume.
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with AI/ML, agentic systems, or LLM tooling
- Cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure exposure
- Open-source contributions, or side projects you can walk us through
- You have worked on something that had real users
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
- You want tickets pre-decomposed into small safe pieces
- Ambiguity in a requirement stops you rather than prompting a question
- You would rather learn about engineering than do it
WHAT YOU WILL GETReal code review from senior engineers and from the founders. Exposure to the full path from client requirement to deployed system, including the parts most internships hide. Work that exists after you leave and that you can talk about honestly in interviews.
Every intern who completes the internship receives a Certificate of Completion and a Letter of Recommendation from the founders.
Strong performers are our first consideration for paid and full-time roles.
