Are you ready to make a difference? Job Summary The Standard India is seeking a Software Engineer III focused on integration and application engineering for our agent platform: SDK validation, agent tool-calling, orchestration testing, MCP server certification and developer workflow support.
In this role, you will own ADLC agent harness, tool-calling and runtime validation from the developer's perspective on the Agent Workplace task force, and drive connector testing, SDK validation and MCP server certification for the MCP Gateway task force.
This role sits on The Standard's Data &
- AI Platform team, which owns the enterprise's shared data and AI foundation — governed once and consumed by many — built on Azure Databricks, Neo4j, Confluent Kafka, Kong, and Anthropic and OpenAI models behind a governed gateway.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, India is a requirement of the role.
Mode of Working: This role follows a hybrid work model, with a primary base in Bengaluru. While in office presence is essential for key engagements, flexibility is offered for remote work based on business needs and team alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and upgrade agent harness solution built on python to enable ADLC capability.
- Validate platform SDKs and client libraries against real developer workflows, and feed gaps back into the platform backlog.
- Build and run agent tool-calling and orchestration test suites so runtime behavior is verified before consumers depend on it.
- Define and operate the MCP server certification process: conformance checks, contract tests and security review gates.
- Build integration and end-to-end test harnesses for connectors across enterprise systems.
- Develop backend services and tooling (Python/TypeScript) that support developer onboarding and self-service consumption.
- Implement contract testing (Pact or schema-based) at platform boundaries and wire it into CI/CD.
- Support event-driven and API integration patterns for agent and application consumers.
- Write developer documentation, examples and quickstarts that make the golden path the easy path.
Skills And Background You'll Need Education: A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems is required.
Experience
- Typically requires 6+ years of professional backend engineering experience in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Strong API design skills and experience integrating third-party and internal APIs.
- Contract testing experience (Pact or equivalent) and disciplined automated testing practice.
- Working knowledge of OAuth/OIDC and identity patterns for services.
- Solid SQL and experience with containers (Docker) and CI/CD basics (GitHub, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with API gateways and event-driven patterns.
Preferred Experience
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration or certification experience.
- Agent framework experience (LangGraph, LangChain) and structured-output validation, or exposure to LLM tool calling.
- Kafka and asynchronous integration experience.
- SDK development or developer-experience-focused work.
- Good to have Microsoft Certification - AZ-204.
