About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive SOC L2 Engineer to join our Security Operations Center (SOC). As a multi-tenant Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), CtrlA protects numerous client environments. This role is responsible for in-depth analysis, incident investigation, and response to security threats escalated from L1 analysts.

In addition to core incident handling, you will manage and maintain our dual-SIEM architecture (Gurucul Next-Gen SIEM and Elastic SIEM), oversee security data integrations, and ensure the robust security monitoring of client servers, Linux infrastructure, and data centers.

Shift Details: This is a shift-based role .

Key Responsibilities

· Incident Analysis & Escalation:



Perform detailed analysis and investigation of security incidents escalated by SOC L1 analysts; validate threats and conduct root-cause analysis.

· Dual-SIEM Management: Perform advanced log analysis, use-case development, and correlation rule tuning within our Gurucul Next-Gen SIEM and Elastic SIEM environments.

· Infrastructure Monitoring: Oversee the security posture and log health of client servers, complex Linux environments, and enterprise data centers.

· SIEM Integrations: Handle data ingestion, log parsing, and end-to-end integration of diverse client logs and security tools into the SIEM platforms.

· Threat Detection & Hunting: Investigate threats across EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and network logs. Conduct proactive threat hunting to uncover hidden anomalies.

· Incident Response: Execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, recovery, and remediation recommendations.

· Playbook Engineering: Create, update, and optimize incident response playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Reporting & Collaboration: Coordinate with internal infrastructure teams and multiple clients for incident resolution; prepare comprehensive technical incident reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a SOC, cybersecurity, or incident response role (MSSP experience is highly preferred).

· SIEM Expertise: Hands-on experience working with Elastic SIEM and/or Gurucul Next-Gen SIEM (experience with ingest pipelines, queries,



and integration workflows is a major plus).

· Systems & Admin: Strong technical proficiency in Linux administration, server environments, and data center infrastructure security.

· Integrations: Solid understanding of log management, APIs, Syslog, and parsing configurations for tool integrations.

· Network & Security: Deep understanding of the incident handling lifecycle, TCP/IP protocols, and network traffic analysis.

· Frameworks: Practical familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK; framework and threat intelligence utilization.

· Soft Skills: Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to handle high-severity incidents calmly under pressure.

Education & Certifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.

· Preferred Certifications (Any of the following):

o Elastic Certified Analyst / Engineer o Gurucul certifications o CompTIA Security+ / CySA+

o EC-Council Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) / CEH o Microsoft SC-200 / Cisco CyberOps Professional
