Must have skills : ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Good to have skills : NA Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Job Summary We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist to implement, configure, and manage software asset lifecycle processes on the ServiceNow platform. The role focuses on software compliance, license optimization, entitlement management, and integration with discovery and procurement systems to ensure accurate software asset visibility and cost control.

Key Responsibilities Implement and configure ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) module. Manage end-to-end software asset lifecycle: Request Procurement Deployment Usage tracking Compliance Retirement Perform software normalization, reconciliation, and license optimization. Maintain and manage software entitlements, contracts, and license metrics.

Configure and maintain software discovery and inventory data sources. Work with Discovery, SCCM, and other data inputs to ensure accurate software usage tracking. Identify and resolve software compliance risks and license overuse/underuse.

Create and maintain software models, publisher packs, and reconciliation rules. Generate reports and dashboards for software usage, compliance, and cost optimization. Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams for software asset governance.

Support audits and ensure compliance with vendor licensing agreements. Integrate SAM with CMDB and other ITSM/ITAM modules.

Required Skills 3–8 years of experience in ServiceNow platform, with strong focus on SAM. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro module.

Strong understanding of:



Software asset lifecycle management Software licensing models (per user, per device, subscription, core-based, etc.) Software normalization and reconciliation Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and inventory tools. Strong knowledge of CMDB structure and data relationships.

Experience with data analysis and reporting in ServiceNow. Understanding of ITIL and IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills Experience with: Hardware Asset Management (HAM) ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping Software Publisher Packs IntegrationHub for asset data integration Experience integrating SAM with tools like: SCCM Intune Jamf Azure AD / Entra ID Knowledge of licensing tools and vendor compliance requirements (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, etc.).

Experience with Performance Analytics and dashboards. Exposure to automation for license optimization.

Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Preferred ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM (CIS-SAM) – Highly Preferred ITIL Foundation Certification – Preferred Key Competencies Strong analytical and data interpretation skills. Attention to detail in compliance and audit processes.

Positive communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams (IT, procurement, finance). Strong documentation and reporting abilities. Nice to Have Experience in enterprise IT Asset Management transformation projects.

Knowledge of FinOps and software cost optimization strategies. Exposure to cloud software licensing models (AWS, Azure, SaaS platforms).

Experience with large-scale ServiceNow implementations. Understanding of AI-based asset optimization or predictive analytics in SAM.
