About The Job

As a Sr. ETL Developer – IBM CP4D, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL processes using IBM CP4D and DataStage. You will work closely with business teams, data modelers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and build effective data integration solutions.

The role involves developing ETL workflows, implementing source-to-target mappings and transformation logic, handling large data volumes, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and quality of data pipelines. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with IBM CP4D/DataStage, ETL development, SQL, DB2, and Unix scripting, along with a good understanding of data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop CP4D/DataStage jobs to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses.
- Develop scalable ETL workflows to process large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.
- Collaborate with business teams and data modelers to understand ETL requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop mapping documents and transformation rules based on source-to-target requirements.
- Work with DataStage Parallel Jobs, Sequence Jobs, Server Jobs, shared containers,



parameters, job controls, and restartability.
- Develop and optimize ETL workflows using transformers, joins, lookups, aggregations, funnels, sorts, partitioning, and surrogate-key handling.
- Perform unit testing and support performance testing of ETL jobs.
- Troubleshoot job failures, performance bottlenecks, metadata/schema issues, connector failures, and parallel-engine errors.
- Work with files, APIs/web services, XML/JSON, message queues, and relational databases for data integration.
- Create and maintain ETL technical design documentation, test cases, results, and issue documentation.
- Monitor and support ETL jobs in production environments and ensure reliable data processing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and delivery.

Requirements

- 4–6 years of experience in ETL development with strong hands-on experience in IBM DataStage/CP4D.
- Strong experience with IBM DataStage Parallel Jobs, Sequence Jobs, Server Jobs, shared containers, parameters, job control, and restartability.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in DB2; exposure to Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, or similar databases is an advantage.
- Experience developing and tuning ETL workflows using transformations, joins, lookups, aggregations, funnels, sorts, partitioning, and surrogate-key handling.
- Experience troubleshooting ETL job failures, performance issues, metadata/schema problems, connector failures, and parallel-processing errors.
- Experience integrating files, APIs/web services, XML/JSON, message queues, and relational databases.




- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and shell scripting.
- Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, data quality, data lineage, and reconciliation controls.
- Experience with source control, CI/CD, code reviews, release management, and production support.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and ETL specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.

Good To Have

- Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data implementations.
- Exposure to modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools.
- Experience working with large-scale data integration projects.
- Prior experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C;) Insurance domain.
