Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Interior Designer and Architect based in Karnataka, India. The role involves leading interior design projects from concept to completion, including space planning, layout development, and integration of Featherlite’s furniture solutions into office, educational, and commercial environments.
The Senior Interior
Designer and Architect will prepare detailed drawings, 3D visualizations, and specifications, and coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure design intent and quality standards are met. Daily responsibilities include conducting site visits,
overseeing installation and fit-outs, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety, building, and environmental regulations. The role also includes mentoring junior designers, contributing to design guidelines and standards, and supporting business development with design presentations and proposals.
Qualifications
- Solid interior design and architectural skills, including space planning, concept development, and integration of furniture systems.
- Proficiency in design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar BIM tools, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, and Adobe Creative Suite).
- Solid knowledge of materials, finishes, ergonomics, and workplace design best practices, particularly for office and commercial environments.
- Experience managing end-to-end design projects, including site coordination, vendor interaction, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Understanding of local building codes, safety standards, and sustainable design principles relevant to projects in India.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring junior designers and contributing to design standards and processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, with several years of relevant experience in commercial or office projects.
