What You Will Work On

CSS, design systems, Layout, with Accessibility, Performance, design tokens across the wider stack.

What You Need

- 4-6 years with CSS in production.
- Hands-on depth in design systems, Layout, enough to defend a decision you made in each, and name the one you rejected.
- Working familiarity with Accessibility, Performance, design tokens.
- You have designed something that outlived its first version, and you can say what you would do differently now.
- The ability to explain a technical decision to somebody who did not make it. Every round here includes it.

About

Not the focus of the interview, but part of the job. Teams ask about these, so be ready to talk about them:

- Git, branching and code review as a daily habit
- One cloud provider used in anger: AWS, Azure or GCP
- CI/CD: your work reaches an setting without somebody carrying it
- A build toolchain (Vite, Webpack or Turbopack),



and a bundle you have made smaller
- Automated tests: unit with Jest or Vitest, end-to-end with Playwright or Cypress
- Core Web Vitals, and having moved one of them on a real site
- Accessibility to WCAG AA: keyboard, focus, contrast, semantics
- REST and GraphQL from the consuming side, including error and loading states
