Lead QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer to define, lead, and execute the Quality Assurance strategy for our enterprise applications. This role emphasizes building scalable, Python-based test automation solutions and requires a strong background in software testing and quality engineering.

Responsibilities

- QA Strategy & Governance: Define and own the overall QA strategy, quality standards, and test governance across programs and releases. Act as the primary point of contact for quality status and risks.
- Automation Architecture: Define and implement the test automation strategy across UI, API, and backend layers. Guide teams in building scalable, maintainable automation frameworks.
- Continuous Testing: Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to enable continuous quality and fast feedback.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach QA engineers and automation testers,



including upskilling the team in contemporary automation practices like Python-based AI integration and prompt engineering.
- Quality Metrics: Define, track, and report quality metrics, driving continuous improvement in QA tools and processes.

Mandatory Skills

- Expert proficiency in Python for test script development and automation framework design.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for robust web and UI automation (mandatory).
- Extensive experience testing APIs and microservices using frameworks/tools such as RestAssured, Postman, or similar.
- Expertise in BDD methodology, Cucumber, TestNG/Pytest, Git, and test management tools (Jira, TestRail).

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Python's Robot Framework.
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with AI/ML testing, including validation of AI-driven features.

Qualifications: 8–12+ years in software testing and quality engineering, with 3+ years in a QA Lead/Test Lead role.
