Alkem Laboratories

Navi Mumbai

About Alkem:

Alkem Laboratories Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Mumbai, that manufactures and sells pharmaceutical generics, formulations and nutraceuticals in India and globally over 50 countries. We have consistently been ranked amongst the top five pharmaceutical companies in India. Our portfolio includes illustrious brands like Clavam, Pan, Pan-D, and Taxim-O, which feature amongst the top 50 pharmaceutical brands in India.

About Alkem GCC:

Alkem's Global Capability Centre in Airoli, Navi Mumbai is the company's transformation engine. The GCC consolidates and runs global processes across HR Operations, IT, Sales Enablement, Procurement and Master Data for Alkem's domestic and international entities, with Finance and Supply Chain on the transition roadmap. The mandate is AI-led automation, international process transition and capability building.

Role purpose:

This role translates a business process into a specification an AI solution can be built from, with enough domain fluency that the specification is right the first time. It carries the complex domains, builds the labeled baselines that solutions are measured against, and reviews the junior analyst's work before it reaches build.

Key responsibilities:

1.Requirement Definition and Specification

- Convert a process and its SOP into a buildable specification: every decision rule, its trigger condition, its tolerance, its exception path and its downstream effect.
- Resolve ambiguity with the process owner and record the resolution. Treat every unrecorded assumption as a defect.
- Define the output the business receives,

including the wording an employee or vendor will read.

2.Ground Truth and Baselines

- Build and maintain the labeled data set for each solution, sourced from historical human decisions, and document how it was constructed.
- Establish the human baseline that solution accuracy is measured against.
- Refresh baselines when policy or process changes, and flag when a measurement is no longer comparable.

3.Prompt and Rule Authoring

- Draft and version prompts and rule sets as controlled documents with changelogs that record the rationale.
- Encode tolerances, thresholds and precedence between rules explicitly, including which checks suppress which others.
- Trace each rule to its policy source, with the source document and clause named.

4.Acceptance and Validation Support

- Define the acceptance criteria for each release and run user acceptance with the process owner.
- Work with quality assurance to ensure the test library covers the rules as specified, including the negative and boundary cases.
- Investigate disagreement between solution output and human decision, and determine whether the rule, the data or the human was wrong.

5.Review and Standards

- Review the AI Business Analyst's specifications before they reach build, and hold the standard.

- Maintain the specification template and the documentation standard for the AI delivery function.

6.Process Owner Engagement

- Work directly with Global Process Owners and functional teams to secure decisions rather than opinions.
- Present the measured behavior of a solution to a business audience honestly, including where it underperforms.
- Escalate policy gaps that cannot be resolved at working level rather than resolving them by assumption.

Candidate profile:

Experience

- 8 to 12 years, with at least three as a business analyst on AI.
- Domain depth in at least one of HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance transactions, Procurement, Supply Chain or Sales Enablement.
- Experience building or curating labeled data sets or test baselines from operational records.
- Shared services, Global Capability Centre or business process outsourcing background preferred.

Technical Skills

- Prompt authoring and versioning for large language model applications.
- SQL and advanced spreadsheet capability for data extraction, sampling and analysis.
- Working understanding of document extraction and its failure modes, including partial reads and low-confidence fields.
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors, SAP S/4HANA, or Freshservice depending on domain.
- Requirement documentation, process mapping and decision table techniques.

Education and Certifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Science or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- AI implementation and automation expertise is required. Business analysis certification is an advantage.
