We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join our team for an industrial project in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining high safety standards at site, ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements, and working closely with the project team and workmen to ensure safe execution of all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor site safety procedures, policies and protected work practices.
Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
Ensure timely corrective action and closure of safety observations.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and safety awareness programs for employees and contract workmen.
Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and site safety procedures.
Conduct and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments and Method Statements for various activities.
Monitor high-risk activities and ensure compliance with approved safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
Ensure proper implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain daily safety records, inspection reports, training records and other relevant documentation.
Coordinate with the project team, contractors and client representatives on safety-related matters.
Support internal and client safety audits and inspections.
Ensure timely closure of safety observations and audit findings.
Promote a proactive safety culture and continuously improve safety performance at site.
Qualification & Experience
B.Tech / B.Sc.
ADIS / PDIS / Diploma in Safety from SCTE & VT, Odisha
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial safety
Experience in an Aluminium Plant / Aluminium Industry will be preferred.
Candidates with experience in handling industrial projects, contractors and site safety requirements will be preferred.
Good communication and coordination skills.
