Role Description The Research and Development Specialist – Waterborne Coatings is a full-time, on-site role based in Navi Mumbai. The specialist will design, develop, and optimize waterborne coating formulations for use in flexible packaging, paper-based packaging, and digital printing industries, focusing on performance, durability, and sustainability. Daily tasks include planning and conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing test results, and documenting findings to support product development and continuous improvement.

The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate technical data into practical solutions, preparing technical reports and presentations, and supporting scale-up and implementation of new coating systems.



The specialist will also stay current with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to waterborne coatings.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Research and Development (R&D;) and Research skills, with experience in formulation or materials development, ideally in polymers, coatings or related fields.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, problem-solving, and the ability to evaluate performance metrics of coating systems.
- Candidates should possess practical Laboratory Skills, including safe handling of chemicals, use of lab equipment, and adherence to testing protocols and quality standards.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present findings to stakeholders.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline is needed.
- Knowledge of waterborne coating technologies, surface preparation, and application methods is an advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to coatings and industrial materials is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail in a rapid-paced workplace.
