Quality Engineering Lead – Enterprise Systems (ES)
About the Role:
We seek a Senior Quality Engineer (QE) to lead quality strategy and execution across our ERP and Product-Facing Enterprise Systems, including Merchandising, Planning, Forecasting,
Product Creation, and Inventory platforms. These systems underpin how products are created, planned, sourced, allocated, and delivered enterprise wide. As a Sr Quality Engineer, you ensure these integrated, data-intensive systems remain accurate, reliable, scalable, and audit-ready—enabling teams to respond swiftly to business changes.
You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Business partners to embed quality into the development lifecycle. Instead of late-stage testing, you will implement automation-first, shift-left quality practices that validate business logic, data flows, integrations, and end-to-end workflows throughout delivery.
This role suits engineers who enjoy complex system landscapes, understanding end-to-end business processes, and owning quality in enterprise-scale platforms.
What You’ll Do:
Quality Strategy & Execution:
- Develop test strategies for ERP and product-facing enterprise systems aligned with business workflows and operational risk.
- Design and execute tests for end-to-end processes across Merchandising, Planning, Product Creation, Inventory, and B2B.
- Validate complex business logic, calculations, rules engines, and configuration-driven behavior.
- Ensure strong functional and data coverage for system integrations, batch jobs, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
- Maintain quality standards for functional accuracy, data integrity, and system reliability.
Automation & Engineering Excellence:
- Build and maintain automated tests for APIs, services, and enterprise workflows.
- Drive automation-first testing approaches for enterprise systems.
- Integrate automated tests and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop reusable test utilities, data validation scripts, and test assets.
- Analyze root causes of defects related to data issues, processing errors, or integration failures.
Data & Integration Validation:
- Validate data pipelines, batch processing, and downstream system impacts.
- Ensure accuracy of planning, forecasting, inventory, and financial data flows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to embed quality early in requirements, design, and refinement.
- Work with Business stakeholders to understand workflows and validate outcomes.
- Communicate risks, defects, and quality insights clearly and proactively.
- Support release readiness and post-release validation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Suggest improvements for tooling, frameworks, and quality practices across enterprise systems.
- Build domain knowledge of enterprise platforms and business processes continuously.
What You Bring:
- 8-9 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Experience testing ERP or large-scale enterprise systems supporting core business operations.
- Strong understanding of testing complex business workflows and data-driven systems.
- Hands-on experience with API testing and service-level automation.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/ Python, or similar languages for test and validation automation.
- Retail experience is a must.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Comfortable working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Solid analytical skills and ability to reason about complex system interactions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Merchandising/ Planning/ Forecasting/ PLM/ Inventory or Pricing.
- Experience testing complex calculations, optimization logic, or rules-driven systems.
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, or observability tools in enterprise environments. (Spunk, Dynatrace)
- Experience validating batch processing, integrations, and data pipelines.
Why This Role Matters:
Enterprise Systems drive business decisions—from product creation to inventory planning and supply chain management. Quality issues in these platforms can cause significant operational and financial impact.
As a Sr Quality Engineer, you protect system integrity by ensuring correctness, reliability, and confidence in every release. By strengthening automation, data validation, and developer-owned quality practices, you enable teams to move faster while safeguarding the business core.
