About the RoleWe're looking for a QA Automation Engineer (1+ year experience) who owns test coverage end-to-end — not just running scripts, but thinking about what breaks, why, and how to catch it before production. If you enjoy building reliable Playwright/Maestro suites, digging into API and backend behavior, and using AI tools to move faster — this role is for you.

You'll work across a multi-service product suite — web frontends (React/Next.js), backend microservices (Spring Boot/Java + Django/Python), and a React Native mobile app (Android/iOS).

What You'll DoTest Automation & Ownership

- Design, write, and maintain Playwright test suites for web applications
- Build and maintain Maestro E2E flows for the Android/iOS mobile app
- Own test coverage for a feature end-to-end — from spec to CI-ready suite
- Debug flaky tests and distinguish real bugs from environment noise

API & Backend Testing

- Write API-level automated tests against Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Django) services
- Understand service behavior well enough to design meaningful test cases, not just happy paths




- Handle test data setup/teardown, basic SQL verification against Postgres

Quality & Collaboration

- Work closely with product and dev teams to define acceptance criteria and edge cases
- Track and report bugs in Plane with clear, reproducible steps
- Participate in feature planning to shape testability early, not bolt it on later

AI-Assisted Testing

- Use Claude and AI coding assistants daily to speed up test authoring
- Explore automated test suite generation via Claude in Chrome / browser-use

What You BringMust-Have Skills

- 1+ year experience in QA automation
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript)
- Strong hands-on experience with Maestro for mobile E2E
- API testing experience (Postman/Newman, REST Assured, or Supertest)
- Comfortable reading and testing Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Django) codebases
- SQL basics (Postgres)
- Comfortable working with Claude / AI coding assistants day-to-day
- Robust English communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferred / Bonus Qualifications

- CI/CD pipeline exposure (any tool)
- Docker fundamentals
- k6 or JMeter for load testing
- Experience testing React Native / Expo apps
- Experience with Plane or similar issue trackers
