About Acts Academy
Founded in 1979 by Dr. Ken Gnanakan, ACTS Academy of Higher Education was established with a pioneering vision to integrate biblical fidelity, academic excellence, and practical ministry training.
Today, ACTS serves Christian students across India and South Asia, equipping them for effective, self-reliant, and contextually relevant Christian service.

ROLE PURPOSE The principal will provide visionary academic, institutional, and strategic leadership to ACTS Academy of Higher Education, advancing its mission with excellence, integrity, and relevance.
The role will lead academic quality, theological education, student formation, faculty development, practical ministry, institutional growth, and societal impact, while ensuring effective governance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary academic and institutional leadership aligned with the mission, values and Founder’s vision of ACTS Academy.
- Drive academic excellence, theological depth, research and practical ministry formation.
- Champion holistic student development, spiritual formation and leadership development.
- Lead, mentor and develop faculty, academic leaders and institutional teams.
- Strengthen curriculum, academic programmes, teaching quality and continuous improvement.
- Promote innovation, research, new programmes and national and international academic partnerships.
- Ensure excellence in quality assurance, accreditation, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive and Christ-centered academic community grounded in Compassion, Commitment and Competence.
- Build strong relationships with churches, theological institutions, universities,
Christian organisations and key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective stewardship of institutional resources and alignment with approved plans and budgets.
- Represent ACTS Academy with credibility, integrity and professionalism within the Indian, South Asian and global theological education community.

REPORTING &
- LEADERSHIP
- Report to the Assistant Director / Management.
- Translate the vision, mission and strategic priorities of ACTS into effective institutional plans and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with the Vice Principal &
- Academic Dean, Dean –
- Doctoral Programme, faculty and administrative leadership.
- Provide effective leadership, coordination and accountability across academic and institutional functions.
- Provide regular academic, operational and institutional performance updates to the Assistant Director / Management.
- Ensure timely implementation of approved policies, decisions and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications &
- Experience
- Advanced qualification in Theology or a relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
- Doctorate / Ph.D. preferred.
- Significant senior leadership experience in theological education, higher education or a comparable institution.
- Strong academic credentials with proven experience in institutional leadership and development.
- Demonstrated experience in academic governance, curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation.
- Experience in faculty leadership, student development and strategic institutional planning.
- Exposure to national and international academic or theological networks will be an advantage.
