About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join GE Vernova’s Advanced Research team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving technological advancements in electrical and grid systems, supporting the company’s strategic goals in electrification and renewable energy. Your expertise will contribute to developing disruptive innovations that shape the future of energy systems, including power generation, control, protection, and market operation.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including universities and technology providers, to create a robust research portfolio and technology roadmap. This position offers the opportunity to lead pioneering research programs, translate concepts into tangible products, and influence the strategic direction of GE Vernova’s electrical technologies.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a master’s degree with a minimum of 14 years of industry experience will also be considered.



Candidates should have extensive hands-on experience in deploying electrical systems within business and production environments, leading multidisciplinary teams, and managing large-scale projects.

Deep domain knowledge in power system operation, control, protection, and market dynamics is essential. Proficiency in hardware-in-the-loop testing, simulation software like PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, DigSilent, and programming languages such as Python, C++, and Visual Studio is required. Demonstrated success in leading research initiatives, securing funding through proposals, and translating ideas from concept to product are highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Identify electrical and grid technology needs by collaborating with engineering, product, and service leaders across GE Vernova.
- Analyze technology trends and emerging disruptions within the power systems domain to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive electrical systems technology roadmap aligned with business objectives.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of early-stage research projects with high disruption potential, guiding technologies from initial concept to market-ready products.
- Coordinate disruptive technology efforts with business units, ensuring alignment with long-term multi-generational roadmaps.
- Conduct demonstrations of new technologies within laboratory settings for internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Contribute to multi-year strategic planning for electrification, renewables, and power, ensuring competitiveness and innovation.




- Work closely with business units to prioritize initiatives, define strategies, and integrate technological advancements into product development.
- Provide technical leadership on market trends and disruptive innovations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, and external technology providers to accelerate innovation.
