About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join GE Vernova’s Advanced Research team. This pivotal role involves leading research and development initiatives that drive the future of electrical systems, power generation, and grid technologies. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the technological landscape of GE Vernova by spearheading creative projects, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and contributing to strategic technology roadmaps.

Your expertise will directly impact the company’s electrification and renewable energy strategies, ensuring the development of disruptive technologies that align with market needs and industry trends. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a doctorate in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems and have at least 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with a minimum of 14 years of experience in the field. Extensive hands-on experience in deploying electrical systems within business and production environments is essential, along with proven leadership in managing technical teams and delivering large-scale projects.



Deep domain knowledge in electrical power systems—including operation, control, protection, and market dynamics—is required.

Candidates should have practical experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, simulation software such as PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, DigSilent, and programming languages like Python, C++, and Visual Studio. A successful track record in leading research programs, securing R&D; funding, and translating ideas from concept to product is highly valued.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with engineering, product, and service leaders across GE Vernova to identify technological needs and opportunities within electrical and grid systems. You will work closely with researchers at the GE Vernova Advanced Research center to analyze industry trends and identify disruptive innovations with potential for strategic impact. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive electrical systems technology roadmap will be key, as well as establishing strategic partnerships with universities and external organizations to foster innovation.

You will lead the development of research programs focused on electrification, renewable energy, and power systems, ensuring these initiatives align with the company’s long-term strategic goals.

Your role will involve managing early-stage technology development, guiding projects from initial concept through testing and validation, and ensuring successful transition into commercial applications. You will coordinate with business units to incorporate disruptive technologies into multi-generational product roadmaps,



ensuring a competitive edge in the industry.

Additional responsibilities include delivering demonstrations of new technologies, contributing to safety, quality, and productivity strategies, and providing technical leadership on market trends and emerging technologies. You will also be instrumental in fostering collaborations with external partners and ensuring that research efforts support the broader electrification and renewable energy objectives of GE Vernova.
