About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Cable Tray Layout Engineer to join our dynamic team at GE Vernova. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design and engineering of hydro power plant projects, focusing on cable tray networks, layout modeling, and civil interface coordination. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in electrical layout design, project planning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The role involves working with advanced CAD tools such as E3D, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD to develop detailed engineering drawings, perform clash detection, and ensure seamless integration of electrical and civil components within hydro power projects. The engineer will also be responsible for supporting site activities, resolving layout conflicts, and ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of professional experience in cable tray layout engineering, preferably within hydro power plant projects.




- Proficiency in CAD software such as E3D, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of cable sizing, cable schedules, cable filling studies, and distribution board layouts.
- Experience in civil structural design review, civil construction drawings, and layout interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and convey complex technical information in English.
- Hands-on experience with clash detection, site support, and layout interface management.
- Understanding of plant network layouts, equipment arrangement, and civil support engineering principles.

Responsibilities

- Utilize E3D, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD for modeling hydro power plant cable and cable tray networks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Create general arrangement drawings for cable tray layouts, erection, trench layouts, and switchyard configurations.
- Detail pothead yard and switchyard layouts, ensuring proper spatial arrangements and interface compatibility.
- Conduct cable sizing, cable filling studies, and prepare cable schedules to optimize electrical distribution efficiency.
- Review vendor equipment drawings, coordinate layout interfaces, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Organize and facilitate design review meetings to discuss and resolve layout and engineering issues.




- Perform clash detection using E3D and resolve any interference issues to prevent construction delays.
- Prepare single-line diagrams for power, lighting, UPS, and control systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Design earthing and lighting layouts, integrating safety and operational considerations.
- Generate bill of materials for cable trays and supports, and manage documentation through PLM tools.
- Coordinate with other departments, vendors, and clients to gather inputs, resolve conflicts, and ensure project alignment.
- Support civil and structural teams by reviewing civil drawings and ensuring layout compatibility with civil infrastructure.
- Participate in site support activities, providing technical assistance and resolving layout issues during construction phases.
