About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cable Tray Layout Engineer to join our dynamic team at GE Vernova. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in hydro power plant layout design, cable and cable tray network modeling, and project management. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients to develop detailed engineering drawings, ensure compliance with safety standards, and facilitate seamless project execution.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and coordinating civil and electrical layouts, ensuring that all engineering activities are completed within stipulated timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Diploma or B.E. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.
- A minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in cable tray layout engineering, hydro power plant layouts, and associated civil and electrical design activities.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software such as E3D, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office suite.
- Extensive experience in cable support engineering, cable sizing, cable schedule development,



and cable filling studies.
- Familiarity with hydro power plant equipment layouts, network design, and civil structural drawings.
- Proven ability to perform clash detection and resolution using 3D modeling tools.
- Experience in site support, civil interface coordination, and civil structural design review.
- Valuable understanding of project planning, scheduling, man-hours estimation, and documentation processes.

Responsibilities

- Develop and model cable tray networks and layouts for hydro power plants using E3D, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD software.
- Create general arrangement drawings for cable tray layouts, erection, trench layouts, and switchyard detailing.
- Prepare detailed civil and electrical design documentation, including single-line diagrams for power, lighting, UPS, and control systems.
- Review vendor equipment drawings to ensure layout compatibility and interface requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
- Conduct clash detection exercises within 3D models to identify and resolve interference issues.
- Generate and maintain bill of materials for cable trays, supports, and related components, and manage these through PLM tools.
- Organize and facilitate design review meetings, documenting feedback and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Interact with clients, regional offices, and other COEs to discuss project progress, technical challenges,



and design modifications.
- Review civil structural drawings and civil construction plans to ensure alignment with electrical layout requirements.
- Support site activities by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting layout issues, and ensuring safety standards are upheld.
- Define cabling routes, perform cable filling studies, and support civil foundation and equipment handling planning.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and man-hour estimation to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
