Role Description The PGT Chemistry role is a full-time, on-site teaching position located in Bagh. The educator will plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons for senior secondary classes, aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.
Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, conducting practical sessions in the laboratory, assessing student performance, and providing academic support and mentoring. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, participating in school events and staff meetings,
and contributing to extracurricular and enrichment activities. The teacher is expected to uphold the school’s values, ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues and families to support student success.
Qualifications
- Solid subject knowledge and understanding of Chemistry, preferably with experience teaching CBSE senior secondary classes.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to explain complex concepts, solve problems, and guide students in scientific reasoning.
- Effective Communication skills for classroom instruction, student guidance, and collaboration with colleagues and parents.
- Proficient Laboratory Skills, including conducting experiments, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining lab equipment.
- Experience or interest in Research and Development (R&D;), project-based learning, and integrating practical applications of Chemistry.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry (M.Sc.) with B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification, as per CBSE norms.
- Ability to use basic educational technology (smart boards, presentation tools) to enhance teaching-learning processes.
- Commitment to student-centered pedagogy, ethical practices, and fostering discipline, values, and holistic development.
- Prior experience in a school setting and familiarity with CBSE assessment patterns is an added advantage.
