Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Patent Agent role based in Pune City.

The Patent

Agent will be responsible for preparing and drafting patent specifications, managing patent applications, and coordinating with attorneys and clients to ensure accurate and timely filings. Daily activities include conducting prior art and patentability searches, analyzing technical inventions, and advising on IP strategy aligned with client business objectives.



The role involves reviewing and responding to office actions, maintaining organized documentation, and tracking deadlines across various jurisdictions.

The Patent

Agent will also support IP risk assessments, collaborate on portfolio management, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Patent Preparation and drafting of patent specifications, including transparent articulation of technical concepts.
- Experience managing Patent Applications, filing procedures, and responding to office actions across relevant jurisdictions.
- Solid understanding of Patent Law and regulatory frameworks governing intellectual property rights.
- Proficiency in Patentability assessments, including evaluation of novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability.
- Competence in Patent Searching and prior art analysis using national and international databases.
- Degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field; additional legal or IP qualifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in Pune City, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Prior experience in a law firm or corporate IP department, and familiarity with global IP processes, is preferred.
