Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South for an Offshore Structural Jacket Engineer. The role involves performing structural analysis and design of offshore jacket structures for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing calculations, developing design documentation, and coordinating with civil and pipeline engineering teams to integrate jacket structures with overall field layouts.
The engineer will use computer-aided design (CAD) tools to create and update structural models, drawings, and reports, and will support design reviews, risk assessments, and technical clarifications with internal and external stakeholders. The position also requires participation in project planning,
support during fabrication and installation phases, and contribution to continuous improvement of design procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with proven experience in offshore structures or jackets.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and engineering calculations for static, dynamic, and environmental loading conditions.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, detailing, and drawing preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with relevant offshore design codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO, DNV) and industry best practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, perform design checks, and prepare clear technical documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience in the oil and gas domain and exposure to FEED or detailed design projects for offshore facilities is an advantage.
- Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of offshore jacket structures, including jacket legs, braces, piles, conductors, boat landing and appurtenances.
- Carry out pre-service and in-service analysis, including:
- In-place analysis
- Storm/environmental load analysis
- Load-out
- Lifting
- Transportation
- Installation
- Seismic analysis
- Fatigue analysis
- Pushover/ultimate strength analysis
- Boat impact analysis, where applicable.
- Develop and review SACS/SESAM structural models and interpret analysis results.
- Perform member, joint and connection checks and ensure structural adequacy.
- Prepare structural design calculations, analysis reports and technical documentation.
- Review structural drawings, 2D drawings and 3D models for design compliance and constructability.
- Prepare and review Material Take-Off (MTO)/steel quantity estimates and support weight control activities.
- Coordinate with piping, mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, naval architecture and installation teams.
- Review vendor, fabrication and construction drawings and provide technical comments.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, client requirements and offshore design codes.
Candidate Profile
- 7–12+ years of relevant offshore structural engineering experience.
- Experience in Oil & Gas / EPC / EPCIC projects.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently execute structural analysis and engineering deliverables.
- Good communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- Ability to work under project deadlines and handle multiple engineering deliverables
