About The Role

WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role is integral to our complex delivery team, focusing on designing, implementing, and leading network infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive expertise in network technologies, possess strong leadership qualities, and be capable of guiding cross-functional teams through large-scale transformational initiatives.

As a Lead / SME Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all solutions adhere to architectural standards, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

Your role will involve collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, providing technical guidance, and ensuring seamless project execution from inception to operational support.





Qualifications The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of demonstrable experience in leading, designing, and implementing complex network solutions within regulated industries or large enterprise environments. Proven experience as a Lead Engineer on complex projects, providing technical leadership and progress updates to senior management, is essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities to articulate technical solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Certifications such as Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at the Certified Technical Specialist level are advantageous. A proactive approach to workload management, delivery, and time management is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

As a Lead / SME Network Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

- Serving as a subject matter expert in two or more network technologies, with a working knowledge of additional network disciplines used by the organization.
- Scoping, planning, and leading engineering efforts on large transformational programs and network-led initiatives.
- Designing, building, and deploying scalable and secure network infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements and architectural standards.
- Leading end-to-end project execution, guiding engineering teams, and providing technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.




- Collaborating with global support teams to transition solutions into operational environments, ensuring smooth handovers and ongoing support.
- Maintaining compliance with governance, change management, risk, and audit requirements across all network disciplines.
- Producing detailed design documentation, supporting implementation, and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders and external vendors to facilitate project success, providing timely updates, and escalating issues as needed.
- Contributing to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
