R.L. Kalthia Ship Breaking Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Naval Architect to join our team at Alang.

This opportunity is suitable for both fresh graduates and candidates with relevant experience in naval architecture, shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel dismantling, or ship recycling.

The selected candidate will work closely with our Operations, HSE, and Compliance teams and gain practical exposure to vessel structural assessment, stability, dismantling planning, and safe and environmentally sound ship recycling operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct and assist with structural assessments of vessels scheduled for recycling
- Prepare and support the development of safe and productive cutting and dismantling plans
- Carry out stability, structural, and technical evaluations throughout the recycling process
- Review vessel drawings, structural plans, and other technical documentation
- Support compliance with the Hong Kong Convention (HKC) and other applicable maritime, environmental, and safety requirements
- Coordinate with Operations, HSE, and Compliance teams for vessel-specific execution planning
- Prepare and maintain technical drawings, calculations, plans, and vessel documentation




- Support the development of safe recycling sequences while optimizing material recovery
- Provide technical support during various stages of vessel dismantling

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
- Fresh graduates and candidates with 1+ years of relevant experience are welcome to apply
- Candidates with exposure to shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel dismantling, or ship recycling will have an advantage
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience or exposure to Alang Ship Recycling Yard
- Good understanding of ship structures, hydrostatics, stability, and structural integrity
- Ability to read and interpret vessel drawings, structural plans, and technical documentation
- Good analytical, technical documentation, communication, and coordination skills
- Willingness to work on-site at Alang, Gujarat

Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, ShipConstructor, or similar naval architecture/design software
- Familiarity with IMO, IACS, and Hong Kong Convention requirements
- Understanding of ship recycling, shipbuilding, or vessel dismantling operations
- Strong willingness to learn and develop practical knowledge of ship recycling operations
