Role Description The Microbiology Intern is a full time, on-site role based in Kochi. The intern will support routine laboratory testing related to water and wastewater microbiology, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis under supervision. Daily responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing culture media, recording test results accurately, and assisting with quality control checks.

The role also involves supporting documentation of procedures, following safety and compliance protocols, and collaborating with senior staff to interpret microbiological data.



This position provides hands-on exposure to applied microbiology within a professional environmental laboratory setting.

Qualifications

- Strong laboratory skills and basic microbiological techniques, preferably with exposure to water or environmental testing.
- Foundational knowledge in food microbiology or general microbiology and the ability to apply these concepts to water quality analysis.
- Quality control and quality assurance skills, with attention to detail in documentation and adherence to laboratory standards.
- Analytical skills for interpreting test results, troubleshooting procedures, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements in a laboratory environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications for data entry and report preparation; familiarity with laboratory information systems is an advantage.
