Role Description:

- This is a full-time on-site role based in Bangalore for a Senior Merchandiser - Shoe & Bags.
- You are individually responsible for the whole purchasing process from initial sourcing for potential suppliers and products until final product shipment/delivery; where it’s essential to keep the time/deadlines in the different stages of purchasing processing.
- You are an expert of finding right suppliers and products to competitive prices and of good quality in reliable factories in related GSP countries like India, Bangladesh, etc. You will also be developing, securing and maintaining a competent sourcing base.
- Merchandisers are striving for continuous improvements in the processes “Source product” and “Negotiate with supplier” and supported by the Sourcing Director and Merchandising Manager to develop skills as a Merchandiser in IGS sourcing organisation.

Responsibilities:

- Find right suppliers and products to competitive prices of good quality on the Asian production market
- Operate purchasing negotiation on the Asian markets
- Secure that suppliers (incl. all external brand suppliers) carry out as per agreements & orders
- Order inquiries, price quotation, calculation of Landed cost
- Continuous improvements in the processes “Source product” and “Negotiate with supplier”
- Merchandising administration work and order follow-up
- Samples logging, packing and delivery arrangement
- Manage and Organise samples storage
- Weekly,



monthly order- and sourcing- status reporting to Merchandising Manager
- Make production plan
- Work actively with seeking to improve yourself and gain further knowledge in your field of responsibility
- Co-work with Senior Merchandiser, Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser in your team

Activities that this position is responsible for

- Source supplier: Find supplier, Communicate logistics requirements, Communicate quality/ safety requirements, Communicate CS requirements, carry out factory evaluation, Compile input for negotiation
- Source product: Send inquiry to selected and approved vendors, Get first quotation from supplier, Select product from vendors
- Give product suggestion: Be Proactive and Creative in selection, Create preliminary landed cost calculation
- Finalize purchasing agreement: Perform negotiation, prepare and finalise purchasing agreement
- Novelty sourcing: Active search Internet, Use of people network, Visit fairs, Visit suppliers/ show rooms/ factories, Select products
- Prepare replenishment: Communicate agreements with suppliers and maintain close contact with your client
- Production planning: know your vendors product line capacity, know your clients marketing plan and forecast
- Secure product quality: Perform product evaluation, Secure inquiry demands, Secure ICA standard requirements
- Merchandising administration work including new supplier registration, purchase agreement coordination, new product article registration and packaging artwork coordination
- Order follow up: make sure you keep deadline for each stages of the order process; approval of lap dips, trims, material, samples, bulk material, production, shipment etc.
- Frequent use of data operative- and internal CBX systems
- Arrange shipment booking with consigned forwarding companies




- Arrange product shipment inspection with QC department
- Initiate factory Quality/ Social Compliance audit at QA dept
- Manage and organise the samples to be stored properly in the cabinets/ racks or store rooms assigned to each section
- Maintain statistics records and produce weekly reports to Merchandising Manager
- Have a tight cooperation with managers, seniors to ensure a smooth flow of information throughout the whole organisation with aim to secure goals are well synchronized
- Work closely with other team members to secure best product for bulk production
- Share information and problems to improve and/ or learn by our mistakes
- Travel and visit factories in the Asia region

Qualification:

- Diploma or above graduation in Sourcing/ Procurement or equal knowledge based on working experience

Experience:

- Minimum 4 years of merchandising experience in Home Textile sourcing and buying environment.
- Sound product knowledge and familiar with European market and testing standards
- Experience in working in an international business environment
- Experience in purchasing and import
- Experience in purchasing negotiation at local and international level

Knowledge:

- Proficient in MS Office
- Working knowledge with CBX or other sourcing system will be an advantage
