Role Description The Mastercam role at Madras Makers is a full time, on-site position based in Chennai. This role involves creating and optimizing CNC programs using Mastercam for wood machining and furniture components, ensuring precision, efficiency, and material optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, setting up toolpaths, collaborating with designers and workshop teams, and performing test runs to validate programs.

The individual will monitor machining processes, troubleshoot issues, maintain documentation of programs and settings,



and support continuous improvement in production quality and workflow. The role also includes maintaining CNC-related tools and equipment, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to the refinement of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Mastercam programming and CNC machining for wood or related materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and production specifications.
- Experience with woodworking processes, furniture manufacturing, or similar fabrication environments.
- Strong attention to detail, quality orientation, and problem-solving skills in a workshop setting.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with CAD/CAM software tools beyond Mastercam is an advantage.
- Capability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and follow safety protocols.
- Relevant vocational training, diploma, or degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related fields preferred.
- Prior experience in CNC operations within furniture or interior fabrication industries is beneficial.
