About The Role The Product Champion role at Abbott Laboratories is a strategic and dynamic position responsible for leading the marketing and sales efforts for the company's entire product portfolio across multiple therapy areas. This role requires a professional with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry, capable of developing and executing effective brand strategies that maximize market share, revenue, and profitability. The successful candidate will serve as a key interface between the sales teams, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that product benefits are effectively communicated and that marketing initiatives align with overall business objectives.

The role demands a proactive approach to market analysis, competitor intelligence, and customer engagement to sustain Abbott’s competitive edge in the healthcare sector.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Business Sciences, or an equivalent field. Additional certifications or training in marketing, such as IMM or other commercial qualifications, will be considered advantageous. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical sales and brand management,



with exposure to handling multiple brands across therapy areas and different geographical regions being highly desirable.

A strong understanding of the healthcare industry, coupled with excellent communication, strategic planning, and analytical skills, is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and brand plans for the entire product portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Create effective communication materials that highlight product benefits for stakeholders across the value chain, including private and public sector clients.
- Prepare and present annual marketing business plans, including tactical initiatives, to senior management for approval and review.
- Provide strategic direction for products, overseeing the development and execution of tactical plans, and measuring their effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative metrics.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and major customers to optimize product performance and support long-term business objectives.
- Ensure continuous product knowledge enhancement among sales teams through training and updates on competitors and therapeutic advancements.
- Achieve sales targets, increase market share, and enhance profitability for all assigned products by leveraging market insights and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and control promotional budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
- Manage the new product introduction process, including planning, execution, and post-launch evaluation, ensuring compliance with company policies and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Coordinate product launches,



including healthcare professional education, promotional activities, stock management, and event organization.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning and Logistics teams to develop accurate monthly forecasts, considering sales projections and market dynamics.
- Conduct market research and analyze sales trends using available intelligence tools to identify opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Engage in regular fieldwork with sales representatives to monitor plan execution, gather market intelligence, and identify new opportunities.
- Manage third-party relationships related to licensed products, ensuring contractual obligations are met and strategic partnerships are optimized.
