Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Database Consultant to lead our modernization efforts by migrating legacy databases to AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database management, performance tuning, and data governance, with a focus on collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead legacy database migration efforts, transitioning workloads from Netezza/DB2 to AWS cloud environments.
- Write and optimize stored procedures, triggers, packages, and functions using PL/SQL and native SQL dialects.
- Perform end-to-end query optimization, indexing, and bottleneck resolution across DB2, Netezza, and cloud databases.
- Enforce data integrity, security compliance,
and backup recovery protocols across all managed data stores.
- Automate schema deployments and data pipeline orchestrations using standard cloud practices and version control.
- Collaborate with data analytics, software engineering, and business teams to deliver robust data infrastructure.
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency in SSIS (Deal Breaker Skill)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices in database management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in database management and consultancy
