We are looking for a energetic and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer - New Product Development to join our Engineering & Design team at our Head Office in Pune. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end new product planning, proto & pilot builds, NPD documentation, and development timeline tracking for heavy machinery/excavator projects, working in close collaboration with cross-functional and global teams.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
New Product Planning & Execution: Lead and participate in the planning and execution phases of Recent Product Development (NPD) projects.
Documentation & NPD Deliverables: Prepare NPD documentation for prototype and pilot build phases.
Timeline & Process Management: Take ownership and accountability for development timelines, ensuring adherence to quality standards and milestones.
Packaging & Component Design: Apply functional knowledge of excavator packaging, machinery layout, and structural/mechanical integration.
Data & Process Management: Utilize Siemens NX (Unigraphics), Teamcenter (PLM),
and SAP for CAD modeling, design data management, BOM creation, and workflow routing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with global engineering teams, procurement, manufacturing, and testing departments to ensure seamless project delivery.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical & Functional Competencies (Must-Have):
CAD & PLM Tools: Hands-on proficiency in Siemens NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter PLM.
ERP System: Working experience in SAP.
Domain Knowledge: Core understanding of New Product Development (NPD) workflows and design lifecycle.
Product Knowledge: Basic knowledge/understanding of Excavator packaging, earthmoving, or heavy machinery equipment.
Software: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Behavioral & Skilled Skills:
Strong analytical ability, proactive problem-solving, and structured presentation skills.
