Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development, with solid expertise in COBOL and Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading technical teams, providing technical guidance, and supporting mainframe application modernization initiatives.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, IMS, CICS, and DB2, along with a robust understanding of modernization approaches such as re-hosting, re-platforming, re-factoring, and re-writing.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor Mainframe development teams and provide technical guidance.
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL.
Analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
Work on Mainframe application modernization and transformation initiatives.
Evaluate and implement modernization approaches such as:
Re-hosting
Re-platforming
Re-factoring
Re-writing




Review existing Mainframe applications and identify opportunities for modernization and optimization.
Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Troubleshoot and debug complex application and production issues.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and quality processes.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
Support application migration and integration with Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Manage multiple technical tasks and priorities while ensuring timely delivery.
Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to team members.
Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams and other technology stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in Mainframe application development
Solid hands-on experience in Mainframe COBOL
