Company Description Indian Corporate Law Chambers (ICLC) is a not-for-profit initiative focused on strengthening India’s business ecosystem through free corporate legal aid, compliance support, and corporate governance empowerment. ICLC primarily serves organisations that lack structured legal assistance, including MSMEs, startups, family-owned businesses, social enterprises, and NGOs. By helping businesses stay compliant, informed, and legally secure, ICLC promotes a more responsible and sustainable corporate environment.
The organisation offers services such as legal advisory, compliance guidance, legal literacy workshops, drafting support, and ethical dispute resolution. ICLC operates with a professional, transparent, and impact-driven approach grounded in ethical legal practice, corporate governance best practices, and mission-first social philosophy.
Role Description This is a full time, on-site Junior Lawyer role based in Noida.
The Junior
Lawyer will assist in providing legal aid and corporate advisory to MSMEs, startups, social enterprises, and other organisations, focusing on corporate and commercial matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching statutes and case law, drafting and reviewing contracts and corporate documents, preparing opinions and compliance notes, and supporting senior lawyers in client consultations and dispute resolution. The role involves contributing to legal literacy initiatives, including workshops, training materials, and knowledge resources,
as well as helping design frameworks for corporate governance and compliance.
The Junior
Lawyer will maintain accurate documentation, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and uphold ICLC’s ethical and impact-driven standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, including company law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience or training in legal research, drafting, and reviewing agreements, policies, and other business documents.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues, prepare concise legal opinions, and support ethical dispute resolution.
- Interest in compliance frameworks, corporate governance practices, and CSR-aligned legal initiatives.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-law professionals.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple matters with timely follow-through.
- LL.B. (or equivalent law degree) from a recognized institution; enrollment with a Bar Council in India is preferred.
- Commitment to access-to-justice, social impact, and working with resource-constrained organisations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic legal research tools; familiarity with compliance or documentation software is an advantage.
- Prior internships or 0–2 years of experience in corporate law, compliance, or commercial advisory will be beneficial.
