Job Overview

LinguaPlanet is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Japanese Language Proofreader and Translator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Japanese translation, proofreading, and linguistic quality assurance, ensuring that all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate documents, articles, educational materials, and business communications between Japanese and English.
- Proofread and edit Japanese content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and consistency.
- Ensure translations accurately convey the original meaning, tone, and context.
- Review translated materials for linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Maintain consistency in terminology and language usage across projects.
- Deliver high-quality translations and proofreading work within project deadlines.





Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese.
- Proven experience in translation and proofreading.
- Strong command of both Japanese and English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid JLPT N2, N1, B2, C1, or equivalent Japanese language certification from a recognized institution (mandatory).
- Previous experience in localization, content review, or language services.
- Experience working with professional, academic, technical, or corporate content.
- Familiarity with CAT tools and translation software is an added advantage.
