Indic Language Domain Expert
Location: Remote
Type: Contract / part time to full-time (flexible weekly hours)
Company Description
Cognyzer is an AI data and talent company focused on helping frontier AI teams build more capable and reliable models. The company specializes in expert-generated benchmark datasets and high-quality training data across domains such as software engineering workflows, agentic computer use, STEM problems, and finance. Cognyzer delivers work in SFT, RL, human feedback, and model evaluation formats, enabling AI teams to identify failure modes, measure capabilities, and improve performance.
Its infrastructure brings together expert contributors, structured review processes, and measurable quality standards to produce trusted data for leading AI organizations.
Role Description
This is a remote role. Cognyzer is hiring native speakers of Indic languages who have studied a listed academic domain to review translations of English science and academic questions into their language.
This is a review and quality role, not from-scratch content writing. You will compare an existing translation and an AI-proposed correction against the English source, then choose one outcome: accept the original, accept the AI correction, make a faithful edit, or escalate the item when it cannot be safely reviewed.
You need your own laptop and a stable internet connection. After a short training and assessment, successful reviewers move into production quickly.
Daily responsibilities:
- Review question stems and answer choices in your native language against the English original
- Check that meaning, choice order, register, and the correct answer are unchanged
- Preserve formulas, units, symbols, digits, scientific terms, and other protected content exactly
- Write a short comment on each item, especially when you edit
- Follow language-specific guidelines for script, grammar, agreement,
and register, without improving fluency at the cost of faithfulness
- Meet weekly hour commitments and quality standards after bootcamp
Languages we are hiring for:
Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu
Domains we are hiring for:
- Mathematics
- Physical sciences
- Life and environmental sciences
- Computer science and IT
- Engineering and technology
- School science (elementary)
- Humanities and language
- Business, economics and finance
- Law, governance and philosophy
Apply in the domain you actually studied. You may list a second language if you are native or near-native in more than one.
Who this is for:
You are a strong fit if you are a university student (currently enrolled) or a graduate in one of the domains above, and you are a native speaker of one of the listed languages. A master’s or PhD is welcome but not required.
Qualifications:
Required
- Native speaker of at least one listed Indic language, able to read and write that script fluently
- Strong written English, since you will compare every item against an English source
- Studied, or currently studying, one of the listed domains at university
- Own laptop and a secure internet connection
- Ability to work remotely, manage your hours, and meet delivery timelines
- Willingness to complete a short assessment or bootcamp before production work
- Attention to detail and consistency in applying guidelines and quality standards
Preferred
- Prior translation, localisation, linguistic QA, or annotation experience
- Teaching, tutoring, or exam-prep work in your domain and language
- Comfort working with web-based tools and spreadsheets
- Availability to start and ramp within days of confirmation
How to apply
- Submit the Cognyzer Indic application form. Tell us your native language, the domain you studied, your institution, and how many hours per week you can commit.
