Role Description The Head of Procurement & Stores (Shipyard / Shipbuilding / Shiprepair) is a full-time, on-site role based in Ratnagiri. This position leads the end-to-end procurement function for shiprepair, shipbuilding, rig repair, and related EPC activities, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, overseeing vendor evaluation and selection, and negotiating contracts to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

The role involves close coordination with operations, engineering, project management,



and finance teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and technical specifications. The Head of Procurement is also responsible for monitoring market trends, maintaining compliance with company policies and relevant regulations, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes, systems, and risk management.

Qualifications

- Strong Supplier Management and Supplier Evaluation skills to build, assess, and maintain a reliable vendor base.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation to secure favorable commercial terms, service levels, and long-term agreements.
- Demonstrated expertise in Purchasing and Procurement within shipyard, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering environments.
- Extensive experience in marine or industrial sectors, preferably in shiprepair, shipbuilding, offshore rigs, or EPC projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Solid analytical, planning, and cost-control capabilities, with experience in ERP or procurement software systems.
- Proven leadership skills, including team management, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work on-site in Ratnagiri, with a focus on safety, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
