Role Description The Head of Industry Institute Interaction is a full-time, on-site role based at Solamalai College of Engineering in Madurai North. This role is responsible for initiating, developing, and maintaining collaborations with industries, research organizations, and other institutions to support internships, projects, training programs, and joint research activities. The position involves coordinating industry visits, guest lectures, workshops, and seminars that enhance students’ exposure to current practices and technologies.

The Head will work closely with academic departments to align curricula and skill development initiatives with industry needs,



and support placement and career readiness activities. The role also includes monitoring the effectiveness of partnerships, preparing reports and documentation, and representing the institution in external meetings, networks, and industry forums.

Qualifications

- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with industry partners, academic departments, and external institutions.
- Experience in academic–industry liaison activities such as coordinating internships, industrial training, joint projects, and guest lectures.
- Proven ability in strategic planning, program execution, and project management for industry–academia initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the institution in qualified forums and meetings.
- Background in engineering, management, or a related field; a postgraduate degree and prior experience in academic administration or corporate liaison roles is preferred.
- Understanding of higher education accreditation, quality assurance processes, and current industry trends relevant to engineering and technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively, mentor staff and students, and use digital tools for communication, data tracking, and reporting.
